Physical Education

The Meadow Springs Physical Education program is structured to meet the evolving needs of students as they grow and develop. Year 1 and 2 students learn the fundamental movement skills needed for confident participation in sport and physical activities, while the year 3 - 6 program focuses on developing sport-specific skills that can be put to use during interschool competitions and throughout our students’ lives. The program provides learning opportunities that nurture self-esteem through a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment. Fair play, sportsmanship and team spirit are continuously reinforced as an integral part of the culture at our school and there is an emphasis on the development of life skills to encourage resilience, respect and self-confidence. Active living and fitness are promoted through our weekly Big Run and Zumba sessions, where participation is encouraged from parents as well as students. Over the past two years we have seen a steady increase in the number of community members taking part in these activities and both are now thoroughly embedded into the culture of our school.
